Ist ja komisch - "When Knights were cold" gilt als einer der
besten "Stan Laurel"-Solofilme - und dann gibt es denn weder
auf DVD noch im Netz ?
Ist der denn vielleicht erst wieder aufgetaucht, als alle DVD-Kollektionen
schon auf dem Markt waren ?

Der Historiker Rob Stone entdeckte im Jahr 2010 den zweiten Teil des Filmes in der "Library Of Congress". Vielleicht hat man ihn mangels Vollständigkeit nicht auf DVD veröffentlicht. 'A weak end party' und 'Wide open spaces' (beide nur teilweise erhalten) habe ich bislang auch noch nicht auf DVD finden können (falls ich da falsch liegen sollte: BITTE MELDEN). "I wish they'd re-release 'When knights were cold'. I guess maybe I'd like to see it again because it has one beautiful funny sequence that I've never seen in movies - either before or since. We had an army of knights in a chase sequence. There were over 300 of them working with basket horses - you know, the circus clown-type horses, with the men's legs extending beneath the little papier-mâché horse built around them. It was hilarious, like some of those circus routines."

You may have seen the book 'Laurel or Hardy' that Rob Stone and I put together. Well thanks to Rob a print was made & we got permission to show the film. Rob now hopes to produce an updated version of the book as several other Laurel / Hardy films have been discovered since it was first published & Rob is hoping we can have a DVD released with the book - so WHEN KNIGHTS should be on the DVD."
